Built in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version is the car capable of driving you from Seattle to San Francisco, Chicago to New York in just one full tank of gas. These road trips are achieved by spending one gallon on 43 miles with manual transmission.

Appearances can be deceiving, as Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version is concerned, first impression does add to the price tag, but only for a moment. This car does look more expensive than the price tag says. This ‘deception’ was created by Klaus Bischoff, a design leader from Germany for the Volkswagen Brand, and Walter Silva, a design chief from Italy for the Volkswagen Group.
One of the key ingredients to the Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version style is its front end. A single unit is formed from a three-blade grille and headlights. This three-blade grill is created in a three-dimensional shape which is quite elegant indeed. Right under the bumper there is a lower intake with illuminating fog lights on each side.

Moving on from the front looks of the Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version, the sides are also impressive with powerful wheel arches, roof lines that makes the car a bit coupe-in-style, three side windows with long glass surface, horizontal taillights in the trunk lid and rear fender. The proportions of the Volkswagen Passat 2012 are 191, 6 inches, 72, 2 width and a stretch wheelbase with 110.4 inches.

The interior is quite spacious with a family taste and fitted for American lifestyles. There is plenty of room for five adults to enjoy a road trip to the fullest. The four large doors of the car open wide enough not allowing a problem getting in or out. The instrument panel is crafted with chrome-trimmed gauges, digital multifunctional display, chromed air vents, chrome surroundings of the radio, chrome navigation system and even chromed climate control panels.

The seats are extra comfortable with eight ways of adjusting the driver’s seat (with lumbar adjustment included), under-thigh support and extra sides.

What makes the Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version come to life is a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, a 3.6-liter VR6 and a 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel.

The 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine is capable of delivering 177 horsepower with 170 lb-ft of torque. It features four valves per cylinder, double chain-driven overhead camshafts, maintenance-free hydraulic lifters, and is available with five-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic.

The 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel creates 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, delivering 43 mpg on highway drive; that recons around 795 miles on one tank. This engine also features a Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR).

The 3.6 liter VR6 creates an impressive 258 lb-ft of torque and 380 hp, an EPA highway estimation of 28 mpg handled with a standard six-speed DSG.
The Volkswagen Passat 2012 US Version is also available in three trim levels – S, SE and SEL, with 16 equipment levels in total.

Being a successful traveling machine means you’ll drive longer; it means that once people are satisfied with your road capabilities they will start asking what’s in stored in the next generation. I’m not talking about people being driven on the ora, I’m talking about the seventh generation of vehicles since 1973 and over 15 million in sales all over the world. I’m talking about the Volkswagen Passat 2011.

Created by Walter de Silva, Head of Design for the Volkswagen Group and Klaus Bischoff, also Head of Design for the Volkswagen Group, the Volkswagen Passat 2011 is paralleled to the Phaeton with a highlighted four crossmember grill in the front matching the headlights. This feature is deliberately placed higher in order to highlight a high positioning vehicle.
The total dimensions of the car are 1,820 mm wide and 4,769 mm long (with the Estate version being 4,771 mm long). The height remains the same; for the Saloon version its 1,474 mm and the Estate its 1,519 mm.

The Side profile is an interesting blend between the front end the car’s wing panel lines. An upper line is used to join the window line up with the C-pillar and the highest point of the headlights. A second line is also featured in the rear section of the car.

The Rear section of the car is appears lower and the end surfaces are wider. The rear lights are wrapped around the wings with two versions. A top version is utilizes LED technology for the break light, rear fog light, and main light.

Under the bonnet, the Volkswagen Passat 2011 is available with ten engines (77 kW/105 PS to 220 KW/300 PS). BlueMotion technology is equipped in the TDI versions as part of the standard equipment. The technological package of the car includes Stop/Start system, low rolling resistance tires; and standard battery regeneration technology capable of recovering braking energy for the Passat models with petrol engines. Six-speed gearbox is also part of the standard equipment. A combination with a dual clutch gearbox (DSG) can be made except for the 105-PS TDI model.

The interior of the Volkswagen Passat 2011 has modifications on the Dashboard in many aspects. There is a visual separation between the upper and lower part of the dashboard with integrated air vents, chrome upgraded bazels on the vents screens and decorative stripes on the instruments. The seats in the the Volkswagen Passat 2011 deliver a new generation of comfort in driving with for different versions. Fabric seat covers in “Conte” design is fitted in the Trendline version of the car.

The Comfort line has an adjustable lumbar support and backrest. Speaking of Comfort, climate version of the seats are available with “Nardo” style fabric in coordination with the ventilation system. “Vienna” leather version with seat heating is also an option with the Comfortline seats.

The Volkswagen Passat 2011 as part of a generation will keep on with its positive aura on the road. It seems that the name and reputation of the Volkswagen Passat 2011 has earned its place on the road and its name.

Volkswagen Passat 2006

Volkswagen Passat is one of the best road cars on the planet. From style to interior comfort it is the reflection of German discipline and work capabilities. Since 1973, the Volkswagen Passat is among the bestsellers, delivering new driving technologies and safety features like ABS, ESP and airbags. It has been more than four decades since his birth and its evolution is all over the bodywork and beneath it.

Four design lines are available with the Volkswagen Passat: The Trendline, The Comfordline, The Sportline and The Highline. Their names are not give by choice or flipping a coin. Beside their looks and features, the cars of these 4 design lines were given their right name for their right purpose.

The younger of the four is the Trendline; next comes Comfortline with is capabilities “attached” to his name; then there is the Sportsline confirming the dynamical character: and, last but not least, the Highline that comes as a high-end model.

In the basic version (Trendline), the Volkswagen passat gives safety equipment package, extensive comfort and function, side and head airbags, dual-face front airbags, ESP active crash headrest in the front, electromechanical power steering, central locking system, electric window lifters and semi-automatic air-conditioning system.

You can choose eight engines with the Volkswagen Passat saloon which, for the first time, provide FSI homogeneous direct injection. These engines roar with 85 kW/ 115 PS, 110 kW/ 150 PS and 147 kW / 200 PS with the Turbo FSI.

A 3.2 liter V6 FSI engine is capable of delivering 184 kw / 250 PS, which is shown for the first time in Frankfurt 2005 at the IAA. The diesel engines are powerful to deliver outputs of 103 kW/ 140 PS, 77 kW/ 105 PS and 125 kW / 170 PS. It is a powerful TDI equipped with piezo pump-jet high-pressure injection system.

Available with automatic DSG (dual clutch transmission is the 3.2 V6 FSI (standard) and the 2.0 liter TDI (optional). Six forward gears and shits is what the transmission is. A combination with six-gear automatic transmission is available with the petrol engines with 146 kW/ 200 PS, 110 kW/ 150 PS and 85 kW/ 115 PS.

The interior is significant in all the four lines ( Trendline, Comfortline, Sportline and Highline). The Black, Latte Maccgiato, Pure Beige and Classic Gray colors are easily adaptable with the four wood applications of Makassar, burr-walnut and poplar. Aluminum trimmings give a classical finish to the entire central console.

In terms of safety regulations, The Volkswagen Passat seems to pass all its crash-tests with flying colors. The safety of the car is secured with ESP, adaptive cruise control (ACC), active crash headrest in front, dual-face front airbags, side airbags and head airbags for the front and the rear. The rear can also be equipped with belt tighteners and side airbags.

New systems in the Passat allow more safety precautions and comfort. These systems include 16-inch break system with integrated “disc wrapper”; Electomechanical parking brake, redeveloped starting and locking system with no igniting key; KESSY (keyless entry start and exit system), ACC (adaptive cruise control), Bluetooth telephone, Sound systems from Dynaudio and Volkswagen; Draft-free Climatronic air-conditioning; Tire inflation pressure monitoring system (RDK); and new tires with emergency running characteristics.

2010 Volkswagen Passat CC

The VW Passat CC is a modern combination of a dynamic coupe and elegant sedan. The sporty individual bucket seats give him an independent body design and its luxury adjective is backed up with technological highlights and powertrain systems which are quite impressive.

The impressiveness of the VW Passat CC comes with two direct-injection gasoline engines (V6 and TSI) and a turbo-diesel (TDI), of course, the choice is yours. The two gasoline engines are capable of creating 220 kW//300 PS and 118 kW/160 PS; and the turbo-diesel is capable of 103 kW/140 PS – The Euro-5 emissions are being satisfied with this. The Passat CC TDI is 213 km/h fast with consuming just 5.8 liters of diesel. The Passat CC TSI is considered as one of the most economical once of its class; its 222 km/h fast and on 100 kilometers spends 7.6 liters. An electronic limitation is given to the Passat CC V6 4Motion to 250 km/h with an avarge fule consumption of 10.1 liter.

The V6 model comes with standard equipment: 4Motion full-time all-wheel drive part of a new generation, efficient DSG dual-clutch transmission and a chassis control system.
For the first time, the Volkswagen introduces the new DCC adaptive chassis control and the Lane Assist (lane-keeping system). Also there is ACC automatic distance control, Front Assist for reducing braking distance and Park Assist for easier parking.

The Panorama vent sunroof is also an innovation for the Passat CC. It is 1,120 millimeters wide and 750 millimeters long, capable of pivoting upward with 40 millimeters. The entire front section is covered up to the B pillars.

The interior of the Passat CC has its positive remarks earned with features like climate control feature for the car seats, the entire climate control system integrated in the navigation systems and the display of the radio, new design and layout of the instruments with chrome, white light glow for the instruments numbers and markings (instead of the backlit in blue, and a n interesting sport’s spirit of pegging the instrument pointers up to the maximum when the ignition is started (a small taste of a racing car).

ContiSeal is the new tire puncture protection created by a German tire producer. This technology enables the car to drive without problems if the tire hits debris on the road capable of causing puncture. The ContiSeal in a puncture situation seals the puncture and allows no escape of air. This technology works on any type of debris of five millimeters in diameter.

Standard equipment for the Passat CC includes chrome accents (exterior and interior), 17-inch alloy wheels with 235 size, three-spoke leather steering wheel design, four ergonomic sport seats, ESP electronic stabilization program, climate control and automatic headlamp switching.

Innovation and new technology are the words which best describe this car. Driving is made much more comfortable for longer road trips, not only for drivers but for the passengers as well.

2001 Volkswagen Passat W8

Less than fifteen years ago (in 1996) Passat has launched its fourth-generation of cars. Two years later (in 1998) this fourth-generation hit the market in North America. It was quite a significant car which was build from the ground up, using a classic “overhung” longitudinally mounted engine delivering the drive to its front wheels. This platform was shared with an Audi (the Mk I Audi A4 from 1994).

A car is meant for driving, from there its purpose is not just moving 4 wheels but also provide the drive and its passengers with suitable comfort. If comfort is achievable then why not make it in style, to lok great and feel great even when you are standing next to it. On this ‘Style” field is where cars separate on mainstream and premium.

Even though this devising is not official, the drivers and manufacturers take it into consideration. Now, what makes a geological turbulence in the world of vehicles is the capability of a car from a mainstream world to “compete’ with the premium big boys. The Mk 4 Passat made this turbulence by providing high class of style and comfort.

SEAT and Skoda were sort-of leaders in the mainstream world, but the Mk I Passat was a successful underdog on the market with a starting price of £16.000 in the UK (£1.000 more than the Ford Mondeo).

Good smother ride is what made Passat a big boy among Mercedes and Audy 4. Its handling was quite similar to that of a Peugeot 406 and Mk I Ford Mondeo, both launched in 1995. Luxury was the word that best signified its interior; well equipped with air conditioning, power windows, CD player, power sunroof, power mirrors and leather upholstery.
Torque steering is eliminated by a sophisticated 4-link front suspension. An expensive Torsen center differential was later introduced to the all wheel drive in order to help the loss of traction with just 50-50 power distribution usage under normal circumstances.

A new gasoline engines powers up the car; one engine option offered 1.8 L turbocharged 4-cylinders capable of delivering 150 bhp for the B5 version and 170 bhp for the B5.5 version; and the other engine option offered 2.8 L V6 capable of delivering 190 bhp. From these two, the 1.8 L engine in both, Audi A4 and Passat, has lower oil capacity which results in oil sludge problems.
Transmission also comes in two options: a 5-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission.

With the new millennium on the calendar (in the years of 2000), the Passat was given a new look; with its minor styling and mechanical changes the Passat was known as the B5.5. Changes were made to the headlights (new projector-optic headlights) and bumpers. The comfort and luxury remained in-tacked. The problem with the 1.8 L gasoline negin was gon by introducing a 4.0 L W8 engine capable of producing 275 PS (202 kW) in 2001. But unfortunately the car retired in 2004 due to sales drop.

After that, 2.0 L turbocharged diesel TDI engine was introduced, capable of delivering 136 PS (100 kW); which was the only car with a mid-sized diesel engine sold in the US.
